Seniors' Cinema – Trumbo M
4 to 13 June
In 1947, the successful career of prolific screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (Bryan Cranston) comes to a crushing end when he and other Hollywood figures are blacklisted for their political beliefs. Risking everything, Trumbo refuses to renounce his views and pays the price for his commitment to personal freedom. In this fascinating true story director Jay Roach recreates a post-war society and glamourous industry shaken to their core by tumultuous social change.

Melbourne Filmoteca Presents: Carmina and Amen R18+
7 June, 7pm
Melbourne Filmoteca returns in 2016 showcasing a vibrant catalogue of Spanish language films from across the globe. In Carmina and Amen, the heavy smoking Carmina is dealing with the surprise death of her husband while trying to keep his passing (and body!) a secret until his bonus pay-check is due. With her daughter Maria in town, Carmina's next 48 hours involve dealing with an unhinged son, a suspected break-in and unexpected guests. All the while, she maintains her quick wit and uncompromising attitude as she generously dishes out her signature vulgar and often offensive comedy in order to get what she wants.
Tickets: $13-$17 Member discounts available.
