Aerobics Oz Style

'80s TV show Aerobics Oz Style returns with Thermos

Dig out the legwarmers and practice your best Jane Fonda leg kicks. Thermos® has today announced it is launching an -80s-inspired aerobics event in Sydney, in partnership with the stars of Australia's iconic TV fitness series, Aerobics Oz Style.

With research showing staying hydrated with cold water every 10-15 minutes during exercise could help improve training performance, the world's most-famous water bottle brand has teamed up with three of the show's stars, June Jones, Wendi Carroll and Taryn Polovin, who will lead the heart-pumping -retrocise' event - Hydrobics.

Taking place at Max Watt's Sydney on Saturday 21 October from 10.30am – 11.30am, the free session will be bringing back classic aerobics moves like the V-Step, Charleston, Grapevine and Turnstep, all to the classic sounds of the -80s, with some of Australia's original fitness gurus.

June Jones, a founding member of Aerobics Oz Style in 1982, said: 'Exercise has always been a big part of my life, so I'm thrilled to team up with the iconic brand, Thermos®, and host this event. We started Aerobics Oz Style 35 years ago but the fundamentals of a productive workout are still the same as they were then – warm up and down properly, mix up your routine and drink plenty of water. Hydrobics is a fun workout session that will show the importance of healthy hydration during exercise."

Research shows just a 2 per cent decrease in your body weight through sweat loss can lead to a 25 per cent decrease in exercise performance, so all event attendees will receive a Genuine Thermos® Brand insulated bottle to use during the workout and take home.

Graham Stone, Thermos® Australia Managing Director, added: 'Partnering with some of the best-known instructors from Aerobics Oz Style is a perfect fit for Thermos, and a great way to help raise awareness about the importance of hydration, particularly as temperatures grow warmer. Not only is investing in a high-quality reusable water bottle a simple way to stay hydrated, it will save you money in the long-term and it's good for the environment."

June Jones continued: 'Whatever your fitness regime, you can make sure you stay hydrated this summer, by using a good quality water bottle as part of your routine. We're looking forward to working up a sweat at Hydrobics and can't wait to see everyone's 80s outfits!"

Hydrobics will be split into three high-intensity sessions, with each Aerobics Oz Style instructor taking the lead with their own unique style and incorporating frequent hydration pit-stops. To find a reusable water bottle that fits your workout, visit www.thermos.com.au.
