The East Pointers announce February / March Australian Tour

JUNO award winning Canadian indie folk group, The East Pointers, will be returning to Australia in the early months of 2025 for what will feel like a 'homecoming' to fans, taking in numerous festival and headline dates with their wall-shaking, electro-trad glorious combination of folk/pop that has brought so much joy to audiences around the world.

The band's return to Australia in February will see them kick off the tour at the Nannup Music Festival, before taking in more festival stops at events such as the Port Fairy Folk Festival and Blue Mountains Music Festival; all the while headlining venues in Adelaide, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne and Hobart.

Still channelling Koady Chaisson as a musical partner after his passing in 2022, Tim Chaisson (fiddle, vocals, guitar) and Jake Charron (keys, guitar, vocals) have remained fiercely energetic, musically complex, and technically brilliant through years of musical map-making, travelling, partying, friendship, and triumphant homecoming.

"Australia has been a second home to us over the years, and a major source of our good times as a band," says Jake Charron. "We're super pumped to be back this March for great shows, a dance, a laugh, maybe a cry… and more good times all around!!"  he adds.

The East Pointers' music has generated strong fanbases across the world, built on a shared love for fusing contemporary genres with a natural brand of storytelling and heart-led delivery. The band's take on "modern folk" has been a natural evolution of playing to 'hometown' crowds of thousands the world over, full family kitchen parties, and an honest reckoning with heartbreak and victory.

In developing their sound across the years that have followed, The East Pointers have garnered industry acclaim, winning a 2017 JUNO Award for 'Traditional Roots Album of the Year' for their debut album Secret Victory, numerous JUNO nominations in 2018 and 2022 for their album What We Leave Behind and EP House Of Dreams, countless East Coast Music Award wins, and over 40 million streams on Spotify. The band's fusion of folk, pop, electronic and dance sensibilities have made The East Pointers leaders in their space.

Their base in Canada's smallest province, Prince Edward Island, provides both inspiration and challenge, and a sensibility tempered by gruelling winters, short-lived golden summers and a tight-knit community of some of the best songwriters and musicians in the world.
