Amy Shark Night Thinker Tour Review

Gold Coast singer/songwriter Amy Shark has wrapped her sold-out national -Night Thinker' tour in Perth over the weekend, her second sold-out headlining tour of 2017.

Performing songs from her iTunes #1 and ARIA #2 debut EP Night Thinker, the tour follows on from the enormous success Amy has achieved this year, beginning with her breakout track, Australia's favourite, -Adore'.

Amy has been on an upward trajectory since -Adore' was placed #2 on triple j's Hottest 100, peaked at #3 on the ARIA chart, #1 on the Australian iTunes chart, #1 on the Australian Shazam chart and #5 on the Australian Spotify chart. The track has officially surpassed over 23 million streams globally with Double Platinum accreditation and is now Top 15 at Triple A Radio in the U.S. with no signs of slowing down.

Amy Shark's success doesn't stop there, releasing the now Gold accredited second single, -Weekends' and current single, -Drive You Mad', both achieving huge streaming success globally and stand out fan favourites throughout the tour.

Wonderlick director, Stu MacQueen commented, 'It's been an incredible 12 months for Amy and we are very excited about what Amy can achieve internationally over the coming year. It's no surprise that her songs are connecting with people all over the world."

Having supported Milky Chance earlier this year and playing huge festival stages including Splendour In The Grass, Groovin' The Moo and Bass In The Grass, Amy hits the road again later this month taking her -Night Thinker' tour to New Zealand before she supports Vance Joy on his -Lay It On Me Tour' throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Amy's European headlining tour begins in October including a sold-out show in London! If you missed Amy's Australian dates, you can still catch her supporting SIA this November with MØ & Charli XCX.

Review:  I was lucky enough to catch Amy Shark at The Corner Hotel, in Melbourne and I'm so glad I did (five sold-out shows!?!). The gig was insanely personal and overall just wickedly worthy. Without a doubt Blood Brothers is my favourite of the EP and of the live show with the catchy Spits On Girls (amazing electric guitar Amy) and Golden Fleece (performed acoustically) following closely behind.

Amy Shark's performance is created as if everyone in the room is a long-lost friend as she's incredibly down-to-earth and tells stories of her music inspirations... "THE Amy"

The highlight? Her cover of Eminem's Superman mixed with a little Don't Forget About Dre – this was where I entered the phase of absolute pure happiness… I was overwhelmed with ecstasy as she rapped Superman (my favourite Eminem track). Can't. Even. Deal.

Obviously Shark finishes the incredible set on a massive high with Adore; which came in second on the 2016 Hottest 100 (although I think it should have been first)… I adore you… Amy Shark; see you at SIA!
