Art Month Sydney returns in March 2020 for a city-wide showcase of contemporary art. Galleries and creative spaces will throw open their doors from 6-29 March to enliven the city's thriving contemporary art scene. The festival promises an array of art world talks, artist parties and exhibitions to entice Sydney-siders to experience the world-class galleries on their doorstep.

The 2020 festival boasts a packed program of free exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions, studio visits and precinct tours. Art Month Sydney welcomes back its ever-popular Art at Night precinct parties with galleries open after dark, as well as the dynamic Art Talks series comprising panel discussions on the arts and climate change, fashion and art collaborations, plus guidance on buying art for investment. In a first for the festival, Art Month Sydney are bringing their Art at Night celebrations to Parramatta. Expect a showcase of artistic talent and one-ofa-kind experiences curated by the extraordinary gallerists and artists that shape the city's art ecosystem.

Art Month Sydney is a platform for connecting Sydney-siders with the city's vibrant creative community. This festival is for everyone – from seasoned art collectors and museum-goers to curious locals that may never have previously stepped inside a gallery. All are welcome to the 2020 program and the chance to meet artists, see behind the scenes of galleries, and explore Sydney's most dynamic art and creative spaces.

ART AT NIGHT: SYDNEY'S BIGGEST ART PARTY
Sydney will fire up after dark with a series of flagship Art at Night events, where galleries open late in a different part of the city each Friday from 6pm to 8pm. Follow a map for a dynamic walking tour through the neighbourhood's galleries, and end with a party at the final destination from 8pm. For the first time Art at Night events also extend to Parramatta. Art at Night Precinct events include:

Art Month Collectors' Space will again unveil artworks from some of Sydney's most exciting private collections. Glimpse prized works from the personal collections of established creative duos and tastemakers shaping the scene today. Curated by Rowena Talacko, the exhibition showcases works from some of Sydney's most respected collections: Nicki Townsend and Andy Martyr; Patricia and Robert Postema; Stephen Cassidy and Richard Perram OAM; and Lindsay Clement-Meehan.

Join Curator Rowena Talacko in conversation with the dynamic creatives behind the Collectors' Space this year. Learn how they started their art collections, the stories behind the works, and gain valuable insight into starting – or expanding – an art collection of your own.

AMS TALK HIGHLIGHTS

Sydney-siders can delve into the creative minds of leading artists with a dynamic range of events from the ever-popular AMS Talks program. Topics include the nexus between art and fashion, sustainability in design, as well as art collecting for investment. Key events include:
Gallery Warming: Making art and architecture in a climate crisis
UTS Gallery, Tuesday 10 March, 6-8pm
As we face the biggest challenge of our generation, artists, designers and architects worldwide are confronted with the urgent need to tackle climate change and ensure a sustainable practice. They also have an opportunity to lead the way in climate change awareness, and the call for action. Panellists include Jed Long, Co-Founder and Project Director, Cave Urban; Angela Tiatia, artist. Moderated by Matt Endacott, Urban Renewal Consultant and Director of the Newcastle Art Gallery Foundation.

The Art of Collaboration: Contemporary Art & Fashion
Jerico Contemporary, 94 Cathedral St, Woolloomooloo, Tuesday 17 March, 6-8pm
Join Gallery Director and curator, Jerico Tracy and Editor-in-Chief of RUSSH Magazine Jess Blanch in conversation with an Australian fashion designer and artist to explore the symbiotic relationship between fashion and art.

Under the Hammer: The Secondary Market
Tuesday 24 March, 6-8pm
Moderated by Lucie Reeves-Smith, Contemporary Art Specialist and Gallery Manager, Deutscher and Hackett, this panel demystifies the workings of the secondary market with an expert panel including acclaimed artist and Art Month Sydney board member, Alex Seton, art consultant, Annette Larkin and Dr Ian Geraghty.

Paris to pompom: Forage to Feast
6.30-8.30pm, Thursday 26 March

Forage to Feast is a series of seasonal edible adventures that bring together renowned forager and environmental artist Diego Bonetto and stylist, designer, foodie and weed convert Marnee Fox. Artist Nancy Constadelia will speak about her current exhibition and recent artist residency in Paris. Ticket price: $100 per person: Eight course vegetarian degustation menu including drinks.

STUDIO VISITS: ARTISTS AT WORK
Art Month is excited to take Sydney-siders behind the scenes into the studios of leading artists. Watch artists in action, hear more about their practice and perhaps take home something special to start or enhance your own collection.

Walkie Talkies

East Sydney, Green Square/Waterloo
We are bringing back our ever-popular Walkie Talkies program for three Saturdays through the month. Get up close and personal in Green Square and East Sydney check out the secret gallery stockrooms and be guided by arts professionals in these dynamic walking tours. Tours will be led by Chloé Wolifson, an independent arts writer, researcher and curator; and Matt Bromhead, a practicing Sydney artist who works between sculpture and drawing who will take you on a tour that leads you to three galleries, including his own exhibition at the final destination, Chalk Horse Gallery.

Hands on: Ceramic Workshop
kil.n.it experimental ceramics studio, 184 Glebe Point Road, Glebe
Saturday 21 March, 2-4pm
Get your hands dirty in a ceramics workshop led by artists Cybele Cox and Luke O'Connor. Explore a variety of clay techniques and create your own masterpiece. Then kick back and enjoy a beverage with some of Sydney's best emerging and established ceramic artists.

Parramatta Studio Tour

Sunday 22 March
Join us for a day of art experiences in Western Sydney! Take a peek into some of the most dynamic artist studios this city has to offer and chat direct with the artists who make magic in them. We'll be grabbing an all-stops bus from the city with in-flight entertainment from a special performance artist.

As always Art Month promises a world-class calibre of exhibitions showcasing Sydney's leading galleries and work by some of the world's finest artists. Highlight exhibitions include: Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery presents Afraid Cascade by Fiona Hall from 5-28 March; APY Gallery unveils work from Iwantja Arts Centre artists Nellie Coulthard and Angkuna Baker from 7-31 March; Cooee Art Gallery presents work by Kitty Simon Napanangka from Warnayaka Art Centre from 6-28 March; COMA presents These Days curated by Sebastian Goldspink from 6 March-4 April and Artbank marks its 40th birthday with With thunder-stroke and rain, an exhibition celebrating the creative process.
