Aurelia St Clair Woke

Aurelia St Clair Woke

24-year-old Melbourne comedian Aurelia St Clair will perform her show Woke on 10 March as part of YWCA Australia's International Women's Day Comedy Showcase.

Instead of the traditional breakfast or lunch, YWCA Australia decided to commission four female comedians to perform shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane to celebrate the power, the sass and the hilariousness of women-led comedy.

St Clair's show is based on her own experiences with life as a biracial, bisexual and bilingual woman living, working and dating in Melbourne.

She was recently awarded funding from Stand Up! Grants, an arts program created in honour of her friend and fellow Melbourne comedian Eurydice Dixon and she hopes that her show will help to shine a light on the ongoing issues with violence against women and the fight for equal pay for equal work.

7-8pm, Tuesday 10 March (doors open at 6:30pm)
The Hare Hole
63 Johnston Street, Fitzroy
