Australian Art Show Melbourne

The Australian Art Show comes to one of the most imaginative and expressive cities in Australia, providing an opportunity for like-minded art lovers to come together in a friendly, creative atmosphere.
While art fairs are predominantly aimed at buyers and artists, The Australian Art Show also caters for the uninitiated in the hope of creating a new wave of artists, collectors and art enthusiasts. What's better more the event is FREE for all to attend.

Take this chance to browse the exhibits of an eclectic range of artists, emerging and well-known. If you're after a statement piece of your own or just appreciate the artistry this will be a delight to the senses. The Australian Art Show gives artist's young and old a chance to establish themselves in the art community and sell their work.

See art in action as the Australian Art Show team up with Art Battles Australia, presenting a live battle between artists on stage on opening night and throughout the weekend. If you're more hands-on, get stuck in at our Art Classes for a small fee (to cover costs of products). Try products, learn techniques and get advice from those in the business that know best. Sit in with artists like Linda Macaulay and Jarek Wojcik and get their hints and tips for beginners and engage in meaningful discussion.

For aspiring photographers, hone your skills at our photographic workshops; enjoy expert tips on different aspects of the trade. Also this year, check out the annual photography competition. See how amateur photographers nationwide have interpreted the theme, -Inspire', and which snap will take out the prize.
For true lovers of Australian art, Emily Kame Kngwarreye's exhibition is not to be missed. Emily is undoubtedly one of the most prominent and successful artists in the history of contemporary indigenous art. Some of her most acclaimed works will be on loan from the Emily Museum in Cheltenham, Victoria, and displayed as a focal point of the entire exhibition.
