Australia Day 2017 at Barangaroo Reserve

Experience our shared history at Sydney's spectacular harbour headland park, Barangaroo Reserve this Australia Day with a range of free events.

The day begins with the symbolic WugulOra Morning Ceremony (8:05-8:25am) at Walumil Lawn, with views of the Aboriginal and Australian flag raising on Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The ceremony will also feature a range of performances by NSW Public Schools Aboriginal Dance Company, the national anthem sung by Kari Choir, and 250 voices performing Sydney Festival's Bayala-Baraya: Sing Up Country.

Visitors can take a peek at the future Barangaroo metro station with Sydney Metro's life size train carriage (9am-5pm) and discover the spectacular free Sydney Festival 2017 installation, The Beach – an ocean of more than a million recyclable balls in the Cutaway (10am-5pm).

Picnickers can watch the finish of the Ferrython and the Tall Ships under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, get their hands dirty at the Edible Kids' Gardens (9am-3pm), and enjoy afternoon performances by multi-award winning jazz virtuoso James Morrison and Junkyard Beats on the Cruising Concert barge.

Bring a picnic or tempt your tastebuds with food trucks at Barangaroo Reserve or the many cafes and restaurants at the southern dinning precinct.
