Lifestyles of the rich and famous - Aussie kids at ski camp in Austria or summer

Nestled in the beautiful Austrian mountains just south of Graz, is the Alpine village of Deutschlandsberg. Each year a small group of lucky children from all over the world meet for the Camp California Ski Camp. In the summer these children attend summer camp sessions in Croatia at a camp known as Camp California, and due to the popularity of the camp, the Camp California staff are running a winter camp experience that replicates the magic of summer camp with the excitement of the Austrian Alps.

Each January the campers stay at the Deutschlandsberg Youth Hostel and ski on 22 kilometres of prepared slopes at Weinebene - with snow guaranteed! Coming from the summer heat of the Australian school holidays this experience would make the Austrian winter camp experience that much more memorable.

Camp California in Croatia is situated on the beautiful Adriatic Sea and was started to give European children the opportunity to experience an American Summer Camp experience without having to fly to the United States each June. It is the first of its kind in Europe and the 7 and 14 day sessions allow children from around the world to learn new sports, develop strong and lasting friendships, improve their English and learn from our experienced International staff all within a safe and fun outdoor environment - and give their parents a well deserved rest.

A safe environment for children where they will make friends, learn new skills and gain a better appreciation for diversity. Focus will be developing a cohesive cabin group and building a sense of cooperation to live and play together. Involvement is always encouraged over competition and there is a focus on developing respect for others. Lastly, smiles, happiness and fun are required.

Children ages 8 - 14 can participate in Camp California's on-site 1 or 2 week sessions. Children ages 14 - 17 can participate in Camp California's Teen Program, or our new Sailing program, which is a 50-foot Bavaria yacht that sails along the beautiful Croatian coast, stopping in secret island coves where the sailors swim in crystal clear blue water and visit beautiful costal towns and villages.

Camp California and Ski Camp Austria campers and staff come from all over the world (USA, Australia, S. Korea, Mexico, Russia, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia - to name just a few of the more than 25 nationalities that attend our camp!)
