With Australian home owners spending almost $3 billion on their own homes in the last financial year*, Victoria's first-ever Backyard and Garden Show arrives Saturday 10 – Sunday 11 August at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, just in time for spring renovators.
Co-located with the SPASA Victoria Spa & Pool Show, the Backyard and Garden Show will have everything alfresco enthusiasts will need to transform their outdoor environment and create the backyard of their dreams.
The Show will feature many outdoor living exhibitors, landscape and design experts providing professional advice and a comprehensive range of the latest outdoor products; all in the one convenient location. Covering everything from plants and landscaping, to outdoor alfresco dining, the Show will be an inspirational hub for families with outdoor areas of any size.
Bringing the great outdoors inside, The Living Landscape Features will see three sprawling backyards created inside the Convention and Exhibition Centre from some of Victoria's most talented landscapers and garden designers. Each will create a stunning, inspirational garden to the theme of "serenity" with one designer awarded the title of Best in Show.
Megan Flower, Executive Director of Landscaping Victoria, said that the Expo will showcase the latest in residential outdoor innovations, reflecting the changing ideal of the Australian backyard.
"Australians have a love affair with outdoor spaces, and outdoor entertaining. With urban density on the rise, the great Australian dream of owning a backyard is changing and the Backyard and Garden Show certainly reflects that," said Flower.
"Everyone from city dwellers with balconies to those in the suburbs with larger plots will find innovative design solutions and inspiration for creating the ultimate outdoor living area, all in the one place."
For those seeking the most up to date advice, dozens of landscape builders, designers, suppliers and gardeners will be on hand to answer any outdoor design and renovating questions. In addition, free educational seminars from leading experts on a range of outdoor topics will be held in the Speaker's Corner – with the full schedule to be announced closer to the event.
The Backyard and Garden Show is co-located with the SPASA Victoria Spa & Pool Show, featuring the latest in swimming pools, spas, equipment, accessories and technology. Tickets purchased for the Backyard and Garden Show gives attendees access to both shows.
With an extensive range of products, services and industry experts on hand, the time spent visiting the Backyard and Garden Show could be the best investment budding backyard renovators make all year.
