Two iconic locations in Adelaide and Perth will be unveiled for the first time as part of a nationwide tour that is set to kick-start the summer season this October 20th at Brisbane's South Bank and will also visit St Kilda in Melbourne, Sydney's Bondi Beach and Commonwealth Park Canberra. Ben & Jerry's Sundae Sessions is also back by popular demand each Sunday with the best live bands and free ice cream for ticketholders.
The movie program for Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne is available online now and offers a stellar line-up of cult classics, the latest and greatest new releases, award-winning features, sneak previews and premieres including Gravity, Grease Singalong, Rush and Labyrinth. With a 2K HD digital cinema system and a huge 12m by 6m screen, guests can look forward to enjoying an alfresco cinema experience like no other.
Ben & Jerry's Openair Cinemas will be recreating a festival vibe as a hand-picked selection of Australia's best-loved artists and emerging talent will be performing every Saturday and then at each Ben & Jerry's Sundae Session. This Sunday Emma Louise will be taking to the stage in Brisbane with more artists to be announced in the coming weeks. Previous years have seen the likes of Sydney five-piece Amy Meredith, The Cat Empire and Hungry Kids of Hungary perform alongside solo artists such as Kate Miller-Heidke and Bertie Blackman.
Local DJs will be on the wheels of steel Tuesday to Friday to keep the crowds dancing while the sun sets over each stunning location.
Every site will host a fully licensed bar stocked with a wide selection of beverages guaranteed to wet your whistle. Local gourmet vendors will be serving up an array of tasty cuisine and scrumptious snacks.
To cool down those balmy evenings, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream will be available in a range of legen-dairy flavours. For those who can't get enough of the sweet stuff, Ben & Jerry's will be scooping up free ice cream for all every Sundae Session.
On top of this, all cinema-goers will be able to charge their phones throughout the evening with Virgin Mobile charging stations at every venue. Openair Cinemas sponsor Virgin Mobile is also offering 400 double passes to its customers in each city with its "Flicks 4 Phones" program. By simply bringing an old handset into selected Virgin Mobile stores nationally to be recycled, customers can exchange their outdated phone for tickets and VIP treatment under the stars.
Guests will be able to enjoy all the action in comfort and style as deck chairs, bean bags and blankets can be hired as part of the ticket packages available. Star Class tickets also include reserved seating in a weather-protected transparent marquee and a Ben & Jerry's shortie.
Tickets are available from openaircinemas.com.au.
