Billy Davis Shoulda Known

Melbourne musician and pioneer of the local R&B and neo-soul scene Billy Davis has released the video for his new single 'Shoulda Known' today. The clip has been premiered on Complex and is released through Sony Music Entertainment Australia. Directed by Abraham Fuentes the clip is a subjective fantasy of Billy's as he travels inside an arcade game and becomes the martial arts fighter he usually controls on the screen.

Billy explains; "The 'Shoulda Known' video clip was a heap of fun. I got big love for mixed martial arts, so the opportunity to be able to go into a gym and setup a fake fight club was dope. I guess the film was an analogy of the statement of the song, which was an apology to my band and friends. In the video clip you'll see me fighting against my closest friends and band members. In reality that's not something I wanted, but I did do, which is why I'm apologising through the song. Stay loyal to your friends and fam."

Video director Abraham Fuentes comments; "From start to finish was great working with all the team to create the music video for such a catchy track. It was great involving some of Billy's fans as the extras, Sergio one of the helpers for the shoot put out a social post asking Billy's followers to be involved as extras and Sergio attached his mobile number for followers to text if they were interested. His phone ended up blowing up with messages and we had more than enough extras for the shoot. As always Billy made the job fun and exciting and I look forward to working with him and the rest of the team in the future"

'Shoulda Known' has been widely embraced by the likes of Australian radio stations triple j, 3RRR, PBS, FBi, RTRFM, SYN FM, 4ZZZ, Radio Adelaide and Edge Radio. The track also received airplay on Jamz Supernova's show on BBC 1Xtra and received support from worldwide tastemaker blogs Hilly Dilly, EDMBoutique, SoulBounce, When The Horn Blows and more.

Following from the success of his sold out single launch in Melbourne Billy will celebrate the release of 'Shoulda Known' with his Sydney fans at The Landsdowne on the 29th March. This is an overdue first headline show in Sydney, the ever morphing and evolving Billy Davis and his band The Good Lords will be represented by the new specialised 8 piece: featuring producer and bassist Tentendo, vocalists Kye, Rahel and Blasko, Rapper Jordan Dennis, Josh Albert on Drums and Christian Barbieri on Guitar.
