Jobi Murphy started in children's publishing at Scholastic Australia working on both trade and education books and magazines. Since starting out on her own, Jobi's portfolio includes the award-winning My Alphabet Kit For Blake Education, work on Scholastic's Reading Discovery Series, and the design and illustration of Random House's Stories for Six Year Olds and the following book in that series. Jobi is more recently the illustrator of the bestselling Max Remy series by Deborah Abela and is the design mind behind the series such as Pearlie and Saddle Club. She illustrated the recently reissued picture book Muddled-Up Farm and the new picture book Billabong Bill's Bushfire Christmas. She now divides her time between working in children's publishing and looking after family in the leafy Sydney suburb or Grays Point.

Mark Carthew is a highly regarded primary teacher, editor, writer and workshop presenter. He mixes his passion for editing, writing and poetry with his love of teaching, books, guitar and the performing arts.

His collaboration with renowned illustrator Peter Gouldthorpe in the Blends series was shortlisted for the Australian Publishers' Association Excellence in Educational Publishing Awards. This was followed by his roles as Series Editor, Development Editor and Contributing Author for two exciting series- the drama script series Voiceworks, and the recently released Chatterbox series, both of which have received awards in the APA's Excellence in Educational Publishing Awards. Mark has also release a series of big books of nursery rhymes, counting rhymes, finger plays and action rhymes. Like Wicked Wizards and Leaping Lizards, Mark's recently released trade picture book of quirky rhymes and riddles, Newts, Lutes and Bandicoots, was also illustrated by Mike Spoor.
