From its lonesome guitar hooks to Chloe's velvety tones, 'Little Lady' has the hallmarks of a contemporary country hit. Recorded in Music City – aka Nashville, Tennessee – with Luke Wooten (Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley) in the producer's chair, the single features some of the genre's finest players.
"We recorded 'Little Lady' during the same session as 'Read a Room' and 'Call It', so the same players have worked their magic on all three tracks! I think this brings a really lovely sense of synergy between the songs, both musically and lyrically" recalls the singer-songwriter. "Luke Wooten is an incredible producer who I've had the pleasure of knowing for a few years now. So, it was great to finally be in the studio working on this song with him and the band."
A self-proclaimed chronic overthinker, Chloe turned her weakness into strength when penning 'Little Lady'. "Although it's not my best quality, at least it comes in handy when writing songs," she laughs.
As the afterglow of a holiday fling began to fade, the songwriter blamed herself for the breakdown of what can only be described as a 'situationship'. "Let's be real though... anything labelled a situationship is doomed from the start, but at least I can just blame it all on being a little lady."
The song's video clip is a pleasant juxtaposition to its lyrics, framing Chloe in a field of wildflowers. Being the fourth time this year shooting alongside her sister, Amy, the pair decided to just go with the flow. "There wasn't a whole heap of planning that went into this one... we just knew we wanted pretty flowers and a beautiful sunset! I sourced my outfit from a local vintage store on the Gold Coast too. We had so much fun filming this one!"
2024 has been a massive year for the songbird. She recently took home the gong for 'Breakout Artist of Year' at the Gold Coast Music Awards, while her two previous singles - 'Time Bomb' and 'Read a Room' - hit #26 and #20 respectively on the CountryTown Hot 50 airplay charts and both cracked CMT's Top 10. Her most recent offering, 'Call It' – somewhat of a companion song to the new single – also notched additions to Spotify's 'Fresh Country' and 'All New Country' editorial playlists.
After joining Nik Kershaw & Go West on tour in March this year, as well as supporting Shannon Noll, Taylor Henderson and Karise Eden, Chloe is gearing up for her next run of shows alongside country legend, Adam Harvey. "I'm so excited to be hitting the road with Adam Harvey for a small run of shows in November! Adam's music was a staple in my household growing up so it's a real honour to warming up the stage for him."
"Chloe Styler has such a gorgeous, distinct sound that always makes you feel as though you're floating on a cloud!" (Anika Luna, Triple J Unearthed). 'Little Lady' is yet another classic Chloe Styler track – thoughtful, innovative and super catchy.
