Following on from a hugely successful 2018, ARIA Award winning singer-songwriter, Conrad Sewell, announced that he will release his highly anticipated debut studio album, LIFE, on May 17, 2019. The album will feature his brand new single 'Love Me Anyway,' alongside previously released songs 'Come Clean,' 'Changing,' as well as his multi-platinum hits 'Healing Hands' and 'Start Again.'
2019 will also see Conrad embark on his biggest Australian headline tour to date throughout May and June. The LIFE tour will kick off at The Astor Theatre in Perth on May 25 and will see him play Eatons Hill Ballroom on May 31, the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on June 1, The Gov in Adelaide on June 4 and The Forum in Melbourne on June 7.
The past four years have been an emotional and professional rollercoaster for Sewell, seeing him hit many career milestones, including landing his first ARIA Award for Song of The Year with his breakout ARIA number 1 hit 'Start Again', and amassing nearly 1 billion streams as the vocalist on Kygo's RIAA platinum hit, 'Firestone.' He has toured with Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5 and Kygo, performing on some of the biggest stages around the globe including Maddison Square Garden and Coachella; joining forces with the late Avicii on Taste That Feeling and bringing Sex, Love & Water to life for Armin van Buuren.
The many successes have come at a price professionally and personally, with Sewell last year revealing that he has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, something that caused his solo career to come to a standstill.
In 2018, a freshly focused Sewell signed a new record deal with Sony Music Entertainment Australia and released his hit single 'Healing Hands.' The song became one of the biggest Australian singles of last year – scoring Sewell his second ARIA Nomination, amassing over 21 million streams and peaking at number one on the Australian iTunes Singles Chart and 7 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
2019 is shaping up to be his biggest year to date, with Conrad set to finally release his first studio album, LIFE. Written and recorded over the last four years in Los Angeles, Sewell collaborated with GRAMMY Nominated music industry heavy weights including Jamie Hartman (Calvin Harris, James Bay, Kygo, Rag'N'Bone Man), Busbee (P!nk, Keith Urban, Kelly Clarkson) and Stuart Crichton (Elton John, Kesha, Kygo) to craft his debut album, LIFE.
Sewell says; "This album pretty much sums up my life to date. A lot of the album was inspired by my battles with addiction, regrets I have as a result of those battles, and the people I've hurt along the way. These were hard truths that I've had to come to terms with. Although the underlying message in most of the songs is one of redemption and hope that people can change…I suppose that's what the journey of life is all about. I wanted to make a classic timeless album with songs that will hopefully be played 50 years from now. No bells and whistles, just my truth and my voice singing with every ounce of pain and love that I have."
Sewell will hit the road this May and June, taking his LIFE tour around the country for his biggest Australian headline tour to date. The shows will see Sewell play a combination of his well-loved hits along with new songs from his upcoming album.
Conrad has also announced that he will be bringing his younger sister and best friend, Grace, on the road with him for his LIFE tour. In 2015 at only 16 years of age, Grace climbed charts around the world with her hugely successful smash hit 'You Don't Own Me' featuring US rapper G-Eazy. 'You Don't Own Me' was the lead single from Grace's debut album FMA released in July 2016. Conrad and Grace made history as the only ever Australian siblings to have the number one and two singles on the ARIA chart at the same time with 'You Don't Own Me' and 'Start Again'; 'You Don't Own Me' peaked at #1 on the ARIA, iTunes and Shazam charts, #2 on the Australian Airplay charts and scored Grace her first ARIA nomination, the song is now 4 x platinum and has been streamed over half a billion times. Grace, who is now 21, has spent the past few years writing and recording and plans to release brand new music in 2019.
Sewell says; "I'm so excited to be embarking on my biggest Australian tour to date and to be bringing my little sister on the road with me. To be able to bring this album to life and play my full body of work is going to be amazing. Playing venues like The Forum and the Enmore is a dream come true"
