CuriosityWorks has taken their latest interactive pop up to The Cannery Rosebery. Designed especially for babies and toddlers, the colourful and interactive activity areas celebrate the importance of play and discovery.
Little People: Big Ideas is the perfect location for your next play date. Designed to engage babies and toddlers in an interactive world of imagination and exploration, this free pop up gives children the opportunity to develop not only language but fine and gross motor skills in a safe, community environment.
Each play area is filled with colourful, high-quality wooden play resources and equipment, perfect for counting games, make-believe and building skills.
The activity's organiser, CuriosityWorks, is passionate about inter-generational, collaborative play-based learning with a focus on STEM concepts and innovation nation goals. STEM is an approach to learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It is designed to empower children, and adults, with skills that can adapt to our changing world. Through STEM, individuals can learn key skills such as teamwork, independent thinking, communication, critical analysis, creativity and problem solving.
Early Childhood Australia notes, "Physically active play allows children to test and develop all types of motor skills. It promotes significant health and wellbeing benefits. Play does not happen in a vacuum; it is usually undertaken within a physical and social space. One of the greatest benefits of playing is to assist with the development of social competence. Children can build relationships, learn to resolve conflicts, negotiate and regulate their behaviours. In play, children usually have increased feelings of success and optimism as they act as their own agents and make their own choices"
Parents are encouraged to get involved and enjoy the experience with their kids. There are two CuriosityWorks team leaders on the premises at all times however parental supervision for all children is required.
There will also be some fantastic promotions running alongside this event with each child eating free with an adult at Stanton & Co. and a free coffee with meal at Welcome Dose Specialty Coffee.
Please note no bookings are required and the event is free of charge.
