Voted by The Scotsman as one of the top comedians EVER to come out of Scotland!
"Subtle, intelligent, perceptive, observant and very, very funny"
George Shanks, The Scotsman, Nov 2008
Danny Bhoy returns to Australia in 2009 with a brand new show developed during a phenomenal year, which has seen him cement his place as one of the biggest acts on the international comedy scene.
As with all of Danny's shows much of his material has come from real life experiences. His deft observations combined with his uncanny knack of delivering a good yarn, has seen him become one of the best selling acts in comedy today. Highlights from his last tour of Oz include his infamous 8ft fall off the stage into the orchestra pit in Ballarat (paralleled only by esteemed entertainer Humphrey B Bear), and his legendary take on a session of the Australian Parliament. All of which, and more, became favourite routines on his end of tour DVD filmed at the Sydney Opera House.
The 2009 tour will no doubt contain references to meeting his idol Billy Connolly at Montreal, touring India for the first time, performing at Caesars Palace with Jamie Kennedy and Mitch Fatel, his recent bomb scare at a show in London, and managing to break up a relationship on stage in Darlington! All in a days work for a comic as comfortable thinking on his feet as he is delivering some of the sharpest observations around. As always there will be plenty of Danny's own interests and life experiences in the show.
Since embarking on a 6 month sold out tour of Australia in 2007 that included 94 dates across all major regional towns and cities and ended with a triumphant series of shows at the Sydney Opera House, Danny has performed in places as diverse as India, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, Ireland and all over the UK. He even recently did a show at the British Embassy in Paris which he's not really supposed to talk about! In 2007 he became the first stand up comedian ever to do a run of English speaking stand up shows in India. He then headed to Montreal for the rare accolade of a 10 night solo show at the Gesu theatre which was completely sold out, earning him such rave reviews as this one from the Montreal Gazette "He had the crowd on side from the beginning and never let go. No surprise he got a standing O". The show attracted enormous attention stateside where he will be taking his show in 2009 after the Australian tour.
He has spent most of 2008 touring across the UK including a return to his home town of Edinburgh in August for his 8th Solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe. He is about to headline the prestigious Just for Laughs roadshow tour across Canada from Oct 20th to Nov 16th on the back of an 'All Star Gala' appearance on national TV there. Then he is off for his second visit to the exclusive Las Vegas Comedy Festival at Caesars Palace where he will be appearing alongside greats such as Ellen DeGeneres and Jerry Seinfeld.
