Take action to stop diabetes in it's tracks

Take action to stop diabetes in it's tracks
Every day in Australia about 200 people are diagnosed with diabetes, that's eight people every hour. Join ASICS Walk for Wellbeing Ambassador, Melissa Doyle for a 4km or 8km walk to raise money for Diabetes Australia and promote the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle for the prevention and management of diabetes. The ASICS Walk for Wellbeing encourages everyone to take action and join the fight against diabetes.

According to Diabetes Australia, making some simple lifestyle changes can prevent or delay type 2 diabetes, and physical activity such as regular walking is a key factor. The risk of developing type 2 diabetes can be reduced by at least 60% by adopting healthy eating and regular physical activity. Diabetes is the fastest growing serious chronic disease globally and can lead to increased risk of heart disease and stroke, blindness, kidney failure and limb amputation.

The ASICS Walk for Wellbeing promises to be a great day with loads of terrific prizes to win, including ASICS gear, Fitness First memberships; and a 'Fan Zone' to meet ASICS sporting personalities.
