Platinum-selling artist, DJ, and producer Dillon Francis has released new single and video We The Funk ft. Fuego. Revisiting his early Latin influences and moombahton roots, it's the second cut from his forthcoming Spanish language studio album, due out later this year via his own IDGAFOS record label. Directed by Erik Rojas, the accompanying music video sees Francis and Fuego take over a rooftop in downtown Los Angeles. Watch the music video here.
'I've been really focused on having fun while making music," shared Francis. "Fuego is a fun dude, so when we cut the song in Mexico all the pieces fell together pretty quickly from there."
"When I first heard We the Funk, I immediately envisioned colors, dancing and fun. I'm Colombian and grew up surrounded by Latin music and culture, so I really wanted to channel that amazing vibrance into this piece," added Rojas. "Dillon and Fuego were incredible to work with and their energy really allowed us to make something super rad!"
Fuego is a Miami, FL based merengue singer-songwriter and founder of the label Fireboy Music. His latest full length album Fireboy Forever 2 was released in 2016 via Pitbull's record label Mr. 305 Inc.. He has previously collaborated with artists including, Pitbull, Rick Ross, and J Balvin.
Francis' forthcoming album was executive produced by Toy Selectah and recorded in New York City, Miami, Dominican Republic, and Mexico City. Harkening back to his 2011 breakout Westside! EP, We The Funk (feat. Fuego) follows the January release of the album's debut single, Ven (feat. Arcángel & Quimico Ultra Mega). Recorded alongside reggaeton pioneer, Arcángel, and Dominican rapper/trap vocalist, Quimico Ultra Mega, the song is available here.
Ven (feat. Arcángel & Quimico Ultra Mega) and We The Funk (feat. Fuego) is preceded by the propulsive Say Less (feat. G-Eazy) and vibrant Hello There (feat. Yung Pinch). IDGAFOS label originated from Francis' 2011 song of the same name, which at the time, reflected the culmination of his signature musical productions. The term has since evolved into a rallying cry for all things Dillon Francis - his clothing line, epic live show, and now an outlet with which to release his new music. In his own words, IDGAFOS is "to be spirited and happy... to never give a shit about anything but remaining positive.
Later this year, Francis will perform at numerous international music festivals and resume his residency at the Wynn Las Vegas for the third consecutive year. A complete list of upcoming live dates and ticket information can be found here
