Interview with DJ Miss Nine
Question: How does it feel to be described as a "world-renowned EDM artist"?
DJ Miss Nine: Well, I am very happy that I am able to travel around the world and just do the thing I love. It's not always an easy job; the travelling is really hard but on the other hand, it brings me a lot of opportunities to do lots of things and meet people from everywhere.
Question: You've achieved a lot in the last ten years; what would you say has been your biggest achievement, to date?
DJ Miss Nine: To go international was my biggest thing; it happened in 2005.
Question: What should Australians expect from your upcoming shows?
DJ Miss Nine: A night to remember! I will be playing some brand new tunes including my own tracks, some mashups I did. Expect a lot of energy and vocals!
Question: What do you enjoy most about touring, Australia?
DJ Miss Nine: I enjoy Australia every time. The people are very nice and the whole atmosphere is special to me. The food is amazing. I think everyone wants to be in Australia for some reason. It gives you a feeling that it is a happy place to live.
Question: Was there a moment when you were performing where you knew you had made it?
DJ Miss Nine: Not really. I believe I have to work hard all the time so there is no time to stop and think you have made it. It's a long process where you try and get better and better every time. And I realise I am not quite there yet in where I want to be! I just keep going.
Question: What advice do you have for other girls who may want to pursue a career as a DJ?
DJ Miss Nine: Try to find a way to be unique and never give up. It will be very hard but work as hard as you can do and you will see in the end you will be rewarded for all the work.
Question: What are the three tracks you are currently listening to?
DJ Miss Nine: 1. Miss Nine – Turn up the Love
2. Lola Palmer – What You Feel
3. Hokima – Privilege (925 Music)
Question: What is your top pick-me-up trick?
DJ Miss Nine: Hahaha, there is no trick!
Question: Where would we find you on a Sunday?
DJ Miss Nine: On a Sunday I am mostly free, so you will see me relaxing with my SOL REPUBLIC headphones on and some chilled music. A lot of times I am in a plane flying to the next city or country. Next Sunday I will be heading to Amsterdam.
Question: What's next for you?
DJ Miss Nine: Trying to take it all to the next level. Can't say too much about it because you never know if it will happen...!
