The Ultimate School Holidays Adventure Opens at Hunter Valley Gardens This April

With school holidays fast approaching, there's no better time to plan an Autumn adventure for the whole family. This April, Hunter Valley Gardens invites visitors to immerse themselves in a world of mythology and fantasy at the annual Mega Creatures installation, featuring pre-historic dinosaurs, mythical creatures and spine-chilling giant insects.

Open from Saturday April 5th until Sunday May 4th 2025, this mind-blowing event is a short two-hour drive from Sydney and one-hour drive from Newcastle. Visitors of all ages will be able to enjoy the rides, interactive fossil digs, a dinosaur egg hunt and other fun entertainment provided by Erth, alongside the giant animatronic mega creatures.

The 2025 exhibition also sees the launch of the new 'Land of Legends', where fantastic mythical creatures transport visitors to a magical realm that blends fantasy and history. The fantastic creatures will mesmerise attendees as they wander around the top of the Sunken Garden Waterfall. Kids and parents alike can engage with the fierce Cerberus, guardian of the gates to the underworld, a Phoenix rising from the ashes, the mythical Pegasus, and the Griffin, known for its strength and power.

The Garden's Dragons Den invites families to explore the legendary creatures up close, meanwhile, the Reptile Road features Hunter Valley Gardens' collection of snakes and lizards on display for visitors to see and interact with during their visit. Families can embrace the thrill from as little as $6 a ticket for amusement rides inside the gardens. From The Venetian Carousel to the classic Tea Cups and family favourite Ferris Wheel, there is something for everyone!

As the sun sets on Hunter Valley Gardens, the creatures will come to life under the night sky during the Mega Creatures Night Safari. Located near the ride marquee, families will find the Night at the Museum display, which invites budding archaeologists to discover mythical fossils and learn intriguing dinosaur facts to engage their curious minds.

If dinosaurs and fierce creatures aren't enough, the Easter Bunny is coming to Hunter Valley Gardens over the Easter long weekend for some family fun. With photo opportunities and Giant Easter Egg Hunts taking place multiple times a day from April 18th to the 21st, easter just became a breeze! The kids will adore the Giant Easter Egg Hunt, with thousands of brightly coloured eggs scattered to collect!  Families will also have the chance to WIN a Family Annual Pass, so to attend, simply add on tickets for the Easter Egg Hunt for $2 per child with the purchase of any family pass online only.

Kim Jacobs, Marketing Manager at Hunter Valley Gardens says, "we are so excited for this year's Mega Creatures featuring a brand-new installation 'Land of Legends'. The installation lands over Easter so families can enjoy a big day out, beginning with an Easter Egg Hunt, and ending with a walk around the gardens marvelling at jaw dropping mega creatures. Of course, we have our amusement rides in the gardens this April, so it really is fun for everyone, big and small!

Families don't want to miss this opportunity to step into a fantasy land filled with mythological marvels and dinosaurs this school holidays. It's the perfect experience for the whole family at Hunter Valley Gardens.
