Australian Release of Debut Single, If It Ain't Me

American newcomer Eleon is thrilled to announce the Australian release of his debut single, If It Ain't Me, following the global success of the modern electro-soul track, set for release in Australia on April 27.

If It Ain't Me is a heady track, evocative of the cool pop sounds of ZAYN, but it also harks back to a classic soul feel as well – and that's what makes Eleon so unique. Those sultry vocals dip effortlessly in and out of skillful falsetto amongst a clever arrangement of dazzling guitar riffs, a pulsing synth, fizzy hi-hats, heavy hitting kicks and current trap-influenced production. It's subtle, but those melodic hooks are undeniable. This unique track was produced by Eleon's collaborator, genius musical enigma Kubla Kahn (Wiz Khalifa, Nicki Minaj, Jason Derulo, Akon, Frank Ocean) and it has amassed a remarkable critical response worldwide with support from the likes of DJ Booth, Revolt, Hilly Dilly, aipate.com, KRXM Killjoy Radio and more.

There is little known about the mysterious man behind the project, but Eleon has offered a little insight into the making of If It Ain't Me, saying, 'I write to express what's going on in my life and those around me. I've been into music for as long as I can remember – I wrote songs to deal with life growing up. If It Ain't Me was created after meeting Kubla in the studio and he played that guitar riff. Immediately we vibed out and the song was born."

With plenty of material set to drop across the globe in the near future, one thing is certain, the hype for Eleon is real – watch this space.

Interview with Eleon

Question: How would you describe your music?

Eleon: Old soul with a modern perspective.


Question: Where did the inspiration for If It Ain't Me, come from?

Eleon: Kubla played the start of a vibe we'd been working on and the song was inspired and written in the same moment. When I listen to a track, I listen for a sound that triggers an emotional response. If it does that, I'm getting on it.


Question: Which is your favourite song to perform live and why?

Eleon: I am not currently doing live shows, definitely a part of the master plan though!


Question: If you could have anyone, in the world, attend your show, who would it be?

Eleon: My mom, she's been waiting for that for a long time.


Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Eleon: I used to consider myself a live performer more, but lately I've been having a lot of fun on the recording side. It's like having a virtual world with limitless possibilities. I look forward to the day that I marry them both!


Question: What motivates you most when writing music?

Eleon: Any person, place, thing, feeling or memory can trigger something creative... just have to stay open to it. It's almost like it's waiting in the air and you have to just pull it into reality.


Question: Which music/artists are you currently listening to?

Eleon: The Weeknd, Post Malone, SZA, Chase Atlantic, Kendrick Lamar, and other current ones are lit, but I'm also deep into them classics still.


Question: What or who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?

Eleon: I don't remember making a choice or being inspired… it was always in me since I can remember.


Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

Eleon: SZA.

Question: What's next, for you?

Eleon: Make more records.
