Emily Perry

Is this Australia's Youngest Director?
Australian GLEE Club Performer turns her attention to Directing.

Emily Perry is tenacious, hard working and dedicated. She has been growing a career in the Arts for the last 11 years appearing on TV, starring in short films, various plays and performances and exhibiting her dance here and in the US. And she is only 14!
'I want to spend my whole life creating entertainment for people" comments Emily 'I honestly can't imagine doing anything else!"

Emily has been chosen to perform as part of the GLEE Club Talent Development Project in the USA later this year. But before she heads to the US – she wants to make a short film and is hoping to be Australia's youngest working director.

Falling Sands is the first screenplay written by Emily. It follows the story of two sisters fighting two very different life battles. Falling Sands is a moving tale inspired by real life events and utilises movement, imagery and dialogue to convey a heartbreaking story – with a chilling twist at the end.

Emily has launched a crowd funding campaign on Pozible.com to raise funds so she can make this short film and submit it to various festivals around Australia and the world.
'This is a project that I wanted to create, that I wanted to own completely" comments Emily 'I have such an amazing and supportive family that have helped me so much but making a short film isn't cheap, so I am hoping that I can raise the money to fund this myself".

Emily's career started at the tender age of 3 when her mother is famed for saying 'she didn't walk – she danced and she didn't talk – she sang!" Emily has an overwhelmingly impressive list of career highlights including winning scholarships to the Australian Performing Arts Grammar School, appearing on various TV shows including Kitchen Whiz and Pyramid and touring in the USA with the GLEE Club Talent Development Project in 2013.

Emily has attended courses and classes at NIDA, Sydney Dance Company, the Australian Ballet School and Brent Street to name a few.

Falling Sands has launched on Pozible.com with a Facebook page and website dedicated to the project as well.
