E^ST I wanna be here

Following up her hits "FRESH OUT OF LOVE" and "MAYBE IT'S ME", which were a favourite with triple j and pop tastemakers around the world, E^ST's new track "I WANNA BE HERE", a sombre pop ballad that is filled with emotion and has undeniably compelling raw energy. Produced with Jim Eliot (Halsey, Ellie Goulding, Kylie Minogue), this release is a joyous ode to life, both sonically and lyrically.

E^ST's debut album "I'M DOING IT" is set for release on July 31st 2020, tells the story of finding yourself after the collapse of a relationship, and also finds E^ST (Mel Bester) considering issues surrounding anxiety and her own mental health. "I WANNA BE HERE" lands in the latter part of the album, and builds perfectly from a gentle piano ballad to a huge, anthemic, open-hearted ode to life, representing Mel choosing optimism over struggle.

"(The songs) are still dealing with sadness and heartbreak, but there's a conscious effort to do better and be better. The album takes on an optimistic tone as I grow as a person. By the end, the album's like: it's okay, I'm getting by, I'm coping."

E^ST has supported the likes of Panic! At The Disco and Twenty One Pilots on tour, as well as becoming an in-demand writer for other artists, from Noah Cyrus to Nicole Millar. 2020 has seen her feature on Sydney-based hip hop artist Kwame's single "Nobody", as well as support The 1975 frontman Matty Healy's acoustic set at Sydney's Metro Theatre alongside Ruel, Mansionair, and KUČKA.

With 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, and millions of views on YouTube, including her Triple J Like A Version raking in 2.5 million views, E^ST has cemented her position at the forefront of Australia's alt-pop scene.
