Bands don't get to a decade in music without a run of brilliant ideas. Most of those are about songs of course, but occasionally they are about how you present music. Evermore has just come up with an idea that really has a touch of the sensational to it - #heymylove
To start with, the band are creating the video for their new single 'Hey My Love' from 1000+ Instagram images of people and places their audience adores and have shared with them. The ingenious Evermore brothers already write, record and produce their own music, and now they have taken to video edit suite and are cutting a video for themselves. Their first teaser can be seen here youtu.be/DdAmZ_eyGf0
The beauty of the idea is that they are throwing out the concept of a video as a fixed medium and instead are planning to "evolve" the video by releasing a new version every four weeks. Directed by Peter Hume, Part 1 will be released March 18th. The band will then continue releasing new versions of the video with more and more social media images, for as long as the idea has momentum. "I think as musicians we need to move with the times and embrace the concept that music is best released and consumed in the medium of its day" said Peter Hume.
Evermore is doing just that, and everyone is invited to participate in the video idea. Simply send images of the people and moments you love to #heymylove and the band will include as many as they can in the next version of the video (private users of instagram will also need to tag @evermoreband).
