-Don't Wait' looks set to propel the band off into a Flume-ian trajectory"- Who The Hell
Perth is becoming renowned for some of Australia's best new music and synth-pop foursome, Flower Drums are no exception. Following a slot at last year's Laneway Festival, a WAM nomination and a tour across the US, the percussive petals are back with the ever-gorgeous -Don't Wait'. Featuring fellow Perth songstress, St. South, 'Don't Wait' is the first taste of their forthcoming EP, set for release in March.
LISTEN TO -DON'T WAIT FEAT. ST. SOUTH' HERE
Sitting contentedly amid electronica and dream-pop and within the dark, hypnotic and warm layers of analog synths, 'Don't Wait' is a collaboration between Perth based artists Flower Drums and St. South. The beats were written over 6 months ago and remained a work in progress until Olivia Gavranich (St. South) was asked to contribute a verse. The result is reinvigorated synth-pop at its most glorious.
After becoming Unearthed by Triple J, winning a spot to play St. Jerome's Laneway Festival and having their single -Birthday Girl' added to spot rotation on the station, they headed to the US for a run of dates, including shows supporting Magic Wands, Steed Lord and Sun Club. 2014 also saw Flower Drums pick up a nomination for -BEST POP ACT' at the 2014 WAM awards, support Snakadaktal, Chela, Client Liaison and more.
