Georgia Fair Interview
Georgia Fair's Jordan Wilson and Ben Riley have been playing music since they were teenagers on Sydney's North Shore, banging out Nirvana covers. Soon they both found themselves leaning towards acoustic guitars and embracing the singer/songwriter tradition. The pair have grown together in friendship and music, so they were certainly ready to step up when it came time to fly to North Carolina and meet up with producer, Bill Reynolds, (of the highly respected Band Of Horses) for the recording of Georgia Fair's upcoming debut album.
From the duo's second EP Times Fly is the tour's title track, Marianne, an elegant and striking song which was recorded in a home studio with help of old friends Boy & Bear and Lisa Mitchell.

www.moshtix.com.au Interview with Jordan Wilson
Question: Can you tell us a little bit about your upcoming debut album?
Jordan Wilson: We did it a little while ago in North Carolina, in the U.S with one of our good friends Bill Reynolds. He's a bass player for Band of Horses and we really look up to that band; we have really just been putting the final touches to the album over the last year and we can't wait for the release.
Question: Do you write your own songs? What's your inspiration?
Jordan Wilson: Yes, definitely. I get a lot of my inspiration from relationships, nature and at the moment I'm getting a lot of inspiration from how people relate to each other and fear death and stuff like that.
Question: What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?
Jordan Wilson: We are always listening to different stuff, but at the moment I'm listening to Iron & Wine by Our Endless Numbered Days and Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan.
Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Jordan Wilson: They are so completely different, but I love the writing of the songs the most. Playing live is really awesome too.
Question: What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?
Jordan Wilson: My Dad was always playing me music while I was growing up so I guess that influenced me a lot. But one of the biggest moments for me was when I went to the Great Escape Festival in Sydney, and that's when I knew that I was supposed to be in music.
Question: What's a typical day like?
Jordan Wilson: At the moment we are living down in Melbourne in a studio. And we will wake up and eat breakfast and watch re-runs of Friends. Then, I sit around and play on my guitar and Ben goes into the studio. Then we meet up later on and sing and jam together.
Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?
Jordan Wilson: Right now I would love to meet Robin Pecknold from the Fleet Foxes. His stuff is really floating my boat at the moment, so he would be someone I would love to meet.
Question: What is the story behind the bands name?
Jordan Wilson: Well we were looking for names for a while because we didn't have a name; we were just gigging under "Jordan and Ben." And one night we turned up to a venue and we had told them our names, but up on the board said "Georgia Fair." It turns out that they had misheard what I had said and then it just kind of stuck.
