Interview with Tim Landers
Question: What are you most excited about for your upcoming Australian tour?
Tim Landers: Just going to Australia in general. No member of Transit has ever been, and it's definitely an intriguing place to travel to. We've always had people from Australia order merchandise, and ask us to travel over there- so we're super excited to finally make that happen.
Question: How would you describe your music, for those who haven't heard it yet?
Tim Landers: Rockers rocking!
Question: What is music to you?
Tim Landers: Expression and venting.
Question: How did the band come together?
Tim Landers: We all just loved music at a young age and played in separate bands across the Northshore. We all met through mutual interests and friends, and eventually started a band together.
Question: What is the story behind the band's name?
Tim Landers: Believe it or not, it took a long time to name our band. I remember sitting in a Burger King with an old member writing names on a paper and "Transit" was the first one we agreed on.
Question: Did you have any pre-conceived ideas about the music industry?
Tim Landers: I hope it's not destined for failure.
Question: Do you write your own songs? What's your inspiration?
Tim Landers: Yes, it's all that I do. It's all that we do. Inspiration comes in many different forms. It depends on the song, it depends on my mood, it depends on the weather, the season, etc. It's all case sensitive.
Question: What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?
Tim Landers: My taste is all over the place. Right now I'm listening to a band called Dead Sara. One of my new favourites.
Question: What's next? Tour/Album/Single?
Tim Landers: We have a single coming out on a seven inch called "Skipping Stone." It's a full-band version of an acoustic track from our record called "Listen & Forgive."
Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Tim Landers: Performing live.
Question: What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?
Tim Landers: Nirvana.
Question: What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?
Tim Landers: Being broke and touring eight to ten months out of the year.
Question: What's a typical day like?
Tim Landers: Every day is a different store.
Question: What has been your favourite part of becoming a music artist?
Tim Landers: Writing and playing music.
Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?
Tim Landers: Nirvana.
Question: Do you have a website fans can visit?
Tim Landers:
www.transitband.com
