With Australia's only Ginger Pride Rally returning this weekend, event organiser Buderim Ginger is excited to annouce that David 'Luttsy' Lutteral will be this year's official MC. Resident redhead at Nova Radio, Luttsy is a man of many talents: radio broadcaster, television presenter, and writer who is known for his quick wit and cheeky sense of humour. Luttsy will be leading the throng of excited gingers through Melbourne's Federation Square on April 29th.
Luttsy says, 'I urge all gingers to join me in expressing and embracing our roots on April 29, and display solidarity in our red heritage. It's time to walk the walk in unison, without judgement, without prejudice, but obviously with sunscreen, preferably SPF 50+."
Gelato Messina will also be celebrating the event - one of their 5 weekly specials will be -Hansel - He's So Hot Right Now' – a gingerbread gelato smashed with gingerbread cake – available in stores across the country from 24th – 30th of April.
Registration on the day begins at 9.30am, with the rally commencing at 11.00am. It's free to register, and those who sign up prior to the event at The Ginger Net will receive a gift bag filled with gingery goodies, including free Buderim Ginger Beer, chocolate coated ginger, a beach ball, rally stickers, temporary tattoos, and inclusions from partners including Messina, Singles Melbourne, and more.
Attendees can expect to see an army of redheads and ginger supporters unite, armed with banners and flags, marching in celebration of their uniqueness. Festivities post march will include free ginger beer, vigorous games of -Ginger Beer Pong', and a kids ginger activity zone, including face painting and balloon sculpting.
Live entertainment on the day will see The Vanns, Luize Scott and X Factor standouts Brentwood as part of the line-up. And for all the single redheads out there, Singles Events Melbourne will be playing coppertop Cupid with rounds of Ginger Speed Dating.
Buderim Ginger is also proud to have The Alannah & Madeline Foundation as the official charity partner of the event. 50% of proceeds from merchandise sales will be donated to the Foundation; a charity that advocates for the safety of children, cares for children who have experienced serious violence, and works to reduce the incidence of bullying and cyber bullying. The Foundation is also the official host of the -Kids Zone' at the event.
The festival will also be supported again by The Red and Nearly Ginger Association (R.A.N.G.A), which exists as the peak special interest body for Ginger issues.
