Popular Aussie actor and former Dancing with the Stars contestant, Justin Melvey, is Diabetes Australia?s latest recruit in the race to raise funds and awareness of diabetes.
He joins a celebrity line-up to launch Diabetes Australia?s major fundraising event, 'The Great Australian Bite', running all throughout April 2005.
Justin first supported Diabetes Australia whilst on Dancing with the Stars when he nominated Diabetes Australia as his chosen charity.
"I?m proud to support Diabetes Australia and their vital work in the fight against diabetes. It affects many adults and children throughout Australia and as yet we haven?t found a cure I support The Great Australian Bite to help raise funds to ultimately find one?, says Justin."
Justin joins music diva Marcia Hines, Neighbours star, Marisa Warrington, former Rugby League great Steve Renouf and Sunrise sports reporter, Mark Beretta in urging all Australians to get behind this worthwhile cause either by hosting or supporting a ?bite? in April.
With added support from Burgen Bread and Saxby?s Soft Drinks, this year?s ?bite? is set to top last year?s incredible result of almost 1,000 hosts in NSW alone.
Anyone can get together with friends, family or workmates over breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a quick bite and make a donation to diabetes awareness, research, education and advocacy programs.
Hosting is as simple as A,B,C!
A. Register to host a ?bite? anytime during April 2005.
B. Invite workmates, friends or family to share a ?bite? to eat.
C. Ask them for a donation to help the fight against diabetes.
