Green Season at Falls Creek

Green season at Falls Creek is in full swing and plenty of activities are on the agenda for these warmer months and events are kicking off this long weekend.
The resort will be hosting many exciting events this season and 2014 will also see the launch of the new Falls Creek Mountain Raid on 15-16 February. The event will see teams participate in a two day navigational challenge including trail running, trekking, kayaking and mountain biking. Sunday 16 February will also see two distance trail run events (8km and 14km) for those who want to take part in the activity but on a smaller scale.

Self-guided walks and hiking experiences throughout Falls Creek in the summer time are the perfect way to discover the iconic plains of Mt Bogong. If biking is your preference then the myriad of tracks, alpine ascents and quiet country roads with some of Victoria's most stunning scenery makes Falls Creek the ideal destination.

Falls Creek is such a perfect biking destination that the resort is also developing new mountain bike trails. The first stage being an easy ride along the aqueduct trail and a new network of intermediate cross country and downhill trails will be on offer this summer.

Falls Creek offers the vast and spectacular surroundings of the alpine national park including the iconic Rocky Valley Lake which offers more activities. The pristine Rocky Valley Lake is the highest body of water in Australia and at over 1600m above sea level, is enjoyed by many in the summer time for fishing, swimming, sailing and kayaking.

Other activities available at Falls Creek during green season include tennis, canoeing, horse riding, Segway tours, summer chairlift, mountain picnics and photography workshops.
