With infectious lead single -Anesthetized Lesson' currently sitting on a cool 44K SoundCloud plays and set to support L.A band Mini Mansions in Melbourne this November, GUM, the solo project of Tame Impala/POND multi-instrumentalist Jay Watson today satisfies all musical cravings, unveiling artwork, track listing and new teaser trailer for second LP, -Glamorous Damage' out Friday, November 13th via Spinning Top Records.
Produced and mixed by Watson himself and predominately recorded at his home in Perth, -Glamorous Damage' surreptitiously warps the era of pop and disco back into 2015. Channeling the robo-glam of Prince and sci-fi waves of Chrome, combined with Eno experimentalism and Beach Boys melodies, GUM moves between the eclectic and chaotic, providing just enough smoke and laser lights on his 13-track offering. -Glamorous Damage' pre-orders are available from this Friday, 30th of October via iTunes and feature an instant download of -Anesthetized Lesson.' The album follows GUM's bold debut LP -Delorean Highway' which amassed close to 450K SoundCloud plays and included the spaced-out rendition of Genesis hit -Misunderstanding.' The debut, which landed a coveted spot on the 2014 AMP longlist, was hailed for its psych-pop manipulations and evocations of an eccentric journey through another world.
