Healthy Living Symposium

The Functional Foods Research Group at the University of Southern Queensland is hosting a Healthy Living Symposium with topics including the latest research updates on development, production and health benefits of functional foods and health supplements.

This will be an excellent opportunity for networking with key R&D personnel, including leading international authorities on health benefits.

 

Keynote Presentations –

Professor Grant Pierce - Executive Director, St Boniface Research Centre, Winnipeg, Canada and

Professor Penny Kris-Etherton - Distinguished Professor of Nutrition Pennsylvania State University, State College, USA

 

Professor Grant Pierce has delivered over 250 invited lectures in 31 countries and received multiple awards for research excellence. He was awarded the 2016 Research Canada Leadership Award and is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the highest distinction for a scientist in Canada. He provides a wealth of knowledge in the area of functional foods, in particular their potential to improve heart health. Professor Penny Kris-Etherton is a leading authority on the heart health benefits of dietary fats including canola oil.
