Horticultural and Gardening Festival 2015

Want to know more about what to grow and how to cook it?  Or would you simply like some great ideas to take your garden to the next level?

The Horticultural & Gardening Festival is the only big spring event to be held in Melbourne in 2015 and it will be unlike any the city has yet seen, with a focus not only on gardening and sustainability, but also on gourmet cooking and growing edible plants.  It will be packed with events and displays that show visitors what and how to grow for their kitchens, how to be more self-sustaining, or simply how to beautify their home garden.

Gardeners, those new to gardening and foodies will all have opportunity to learn from their heroes, including former MasterChef winner, Emma Dean, indigenous chef, Mark Olive, paddock to plate passionista Louise Fitzroy, as well as current and former ABC TV Gardening Australia hosts Peter Cundall, Costa Georgiadis, Angus Stewart and Stephen Ryan.  A number of Australia's favourite horticulturists will be there too, such as Attila Kapitany, Ian Barker and Simon Rickard.

Children and parents both will be delighted by the dirtgirl Activity Centre, where kids will be able to garden and meet their gardening heroine.

There will be opportunities to buy plants and tools, gifts or edible produce, as well as attend workshops and specialty talks.  There will also be creative display gardens where you can meet the designers.  Plant Q&A and free design consultations will be available.

The spring season is when most of us are keen to get back into our gardens. The Horticultural and Gardening Festival 2015 will be a fun event for the whole family and it will cater for all levels of gardeners, from the mildly interested to the most passionate.

The Horticultural & Gardening Festival is all about putting together people with amazing knowledge and passion for gardening and food with those who want to experience the joy of growing anything, from edibles to ornamentals.  There'll be opportunities to learn from the very best, have fun and walk away truly inspired.
