House of Riot, the social enterprise run by international model and activist Ollie Henderson, announced today it will be curating a series of youth political forums in the lead up to the 2016 Federal Election.
Miss Henderson said 'in the midst of #LibSpill, young Australians are feeling even further removed from decision-making powers and there needs to be a space where youth opinions and voices are not only valued but seen as integral parts of a solution."
On The Floor will provide that platform, running in the same format as popular television show Q&A. The bimonthly events will bring together five panelists to answer audience questions on topical issues such as youth unemployment, climate change and housing affordability.
Panelists will include politicians, public figures and field specialists with active involvement from youth audiences in curating questions and debate. The participatory event has a strong interest in engaging youth audiences from a range backgrounds, extending the series into other cities around Australia throughout 2016 to provide opportunities for both urban and rural youth engagement.
