Following heats in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, hear the next generation of opera stars when eleven young singers compete in Australasia's most prestigious classical singing competition.
The semi-finalists are: Georgia Melville (Soprano) Josi Ann Ellem (Soprano), Tristan Entwistle (Baritone), Cleo Lee-McGowan (Soprano), Shakira Tsindos (Mezzo Soprano), Zoe Drummond (Soprano), Katherine McIndoe (Soprano), Sophie Sparrow (Soprano), Pasquale Orchard (Soprano), Xenia Puskarz Thomas (Mezzo Soprano) from Nicole Mealey (Mezzo).
The Semi-Finals Concert gives you a unique chance to hear the next generation of opera stars perform some of the most loved and memorable work in the classical singing canon. From charming lieder to lyrical arias, each performer sings two pieces as they compete to win a place in the Finals Concert to be held on Saturday 8 September at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
The Australian Singing Competition is open to singers under the age of 26 and offers a number of career-building awards making it Australasia's premier competition and the richest of its kind for our finest young opera and classical singers with nearly $200,000 in prizes.
