Imbi The Girl I Used To Tour

Arriving seemingly out of nowhere in 2017, Sydney-based force of nature imbi the girl has been slowly writing their own story, to the beat of their own drum. While currently on tour supporting multi-talent Odette, imbi the girl today shares their new single 'i used to' featuring Perth group SUPEREGO (formerly POW! Negro). To celebrate the release, imbi the girl will embark on their first headline tour with shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney this June, joined by Brisbane-based electronic producer Azura on support duties.

"''i used to' is about a period in life where I and those around me were overwhelmed with energy and intense feelings to the point of complete confusion," says imbi. "It's an ode to that state of being, an acceptance of how it feels, it's importance in our life processes and also a declaration of my dedication to clarity and receptivity. When writing it, the lyrics and melody came very naturally to me, so every time I listen to it I gain further insight into its meaning."

With their unique and inspiring brand of poetic hiphop, R&B and soul, they have fast won the hearts of industry and fans, with prominent features on the likes of Billboard and Beats 1, support from triple j Unearthed and finding passionate champions across community radio. With breakthrough single swell proving imbi as a force to be reckoned with, they performed at Laneway Festival, BIGSOUND, Listen Out, Groovin The Moo, Gaytimes and Secret Garden, as well as supporting the likes of Sampa The Great, FKJ and Horrorshow.
