With a budding career and booming voice, Isabella Nicole is swiftly taking the pop music scene by storm. The 16-year-old Canadian recording artist recently released her debut original single Headphones. Backed by an electro-pop beat, Isabella Nicole's soulful melodies are matched by a strong yet subtle voice that is seemingly beyond her years. The track has already been promoted across Radio Disney, SiriusXM/Venus Radio, Top 40 Radio and was even featured on MTV's hit reality show 'Siesta Key.' Both the single produced by hitmaker Aaron Pearce (Justin Bieber, Fifth Harmony) and music video directed by Damien Sandoval (Pia Mia), capture the vibrant and playful lyrics of "Headphones" which celebrates the beauty of drowning out the world and getting 'lost in the music.'
Born in the Leiden, Netherlands, Isabella Nicole first took the stage at the young age of eight performing in local musical theater productions. After moving to Ottawa, Canada in 2010, she continued performing at popular venues throughout the city, where the depth of her talent was quickly recognised.
With a heart as big as her vocal range, Isabella Nicole often lends her time and voice to charitable causes benefitting mental health aid and research, especially those that help other youths. She recently performed at both AIM For Mental Health's 'AIM For Cures' Fundraiser and JED's 15th Anniversary Gala 'Love Is Louder'. She is additionally passionate about taking action towards preventing global warming and preserving the environment.
Question: How would you describe your music?
Isabella Nicole: I would describe my sound as 'pop soul.' It has that Motown-inspired feeling with a soulful voice, but still applies to the pop genre. My music is fun, makes people feel good and especially makes them want to dance.
Question: What inspired the track, Headphones?
Isabella Nicole: Inspiration for 'Headphones' came from something that I feel is very relatable to everyone. That is, when things get tough and your responsibilities are piling up, all you can really do is put on your headphones and get lost in your music, just be in your own headspace and not think about the rest of the world.
Question: What motivates you most when writing music?
Isabella Nicole: When writing music, I really just like to be comfortable with the people I'm working with. I like it to be a comfortable space and I want the topic to be genuine and relatable to my audience.
