This year Australia's Jeans for Genes Day will be held on Friday, 5th August 2005.The annual event will encourage everybody to wear jeans on that day and make a donationJeans for Genes. There are numerous Australian artists and celebrities who contributeto this year's event. Ian Thorpe who supports this annual charity event has agreedupon the use of his 2003 Jeans image on this year's badge.

Many international stars have also decided to show their support for Jeans forGenes Day by contributing their jeans to the foundation. Some of the stars who hassent their jeans include: Kate Hudson, Hilary Swank, Geoffrey Rush, Robert Downey Jnr,Jane Fonda, and Darryl Hannah.

Those jeans, among other jeans that have been contributed by other artists,will be auctioned in a charity event on 21 July 2005 at Sydney Town Hall. The eventwill have Jeff Duff and his band who will entertain guests by performing popular songsfrom known musician such as Frank Sinatra, David Bowie and Tom Jones, and also afashion parade from 'Do It with Jeans' competition finalists.

Ticket entry for the Gala is AUD $200 for individual, but it will cost AUD $3000for Platinum table for 10 people that includes VIP seating.

There are other ways to support this cause, one way is to wear jeans on the dayand make a donation to Jeans for Genes charity organization. We can also create ourown fundraising events, collect some donations and then give them to Jeans for GenesFoundation.
