Columbia Records recording artist Jozzy releases new song "Sucka Free" featuring Grammy Award winning icon Lil Wayne. Long known for her prolific writing career, Jozzy, who wrote Billy Ray Cyrus's verse on Lil Nas X's chart topping smash "Old Town Road" and Jacquees's "You", has also worked with and written for Pharrell, Chris Martin, 21 Savage, French Montana, Mary J. Blige, Ella Mai, Little Mix and Usher amongst many others. Taking a break from writing hits for others, Jozzy shares "Sucka Free", her first effort as an artist from her forthcoming major label debut album.
"Sucka Free", produced by Foreign Teck, finds Jozzy alternating between sweetly singing and confidently rapping over an uptempo, hypnotic beat, anchored by supportive vocals from Lil Wayne 'I got you Jozzy'. The song's message is positive, with Jozzy urging listeners to be true to themselves and not be suckers for trends, fake behavior and quick likes. Listen to the song here.
Says Jozzy, "I feel these days with all of these social media filters, you can be whatever you want and have fun, but sometimes we put on too many filters and lose oursevles. Nobody wants to be called a sucker or realized you fell for some bs. 'Sucka Free' is about being yourself and keeping it real. Have fun but don't be something that you are not."
Adds Lil Wayne, "I knew Jozzy from Miami, and would see her going hard in the studio, grinding and making everyone sound good. There was no question that I would be part of her song. All love for Jozzy."
"Sucka Free" is available on all streaming platforms and the official music video will be released in the coming weeks.
Jozzy concludes, "this is my art, by me as an artist. I am 100 percent myself, I am Sucka Free. Shoutout to Wayne for giving me such a great verse".
