Fresh from signing a new deal with Universal Music Group, Aristokrat Records, the Nigerian entertainment company that discovered and developed Burna Boy presents their new superstar signing, 25 year-old Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer Jujuboy Star. His new single 'I Dey There' is released today, and was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Kel P and mixed by Canadian duo Banx and Ranx. 'I Dey There' was written by Jujuboy Star himself, the story of a relationship situation he was in at the time is played out over a sweet mix of Afrobeats and R&B, or as he's coined it 'JujuVibe'.
Hailing from Edo State, the same city as his contemporaries Rema and Santi, Jujuboy Star's musical journey started at eight years old in his church choir. His church roots have influenced his sound today, which began when he learned about music production from his neighbour. By 16 he was producing his own beats at his Grandma's house, using Fruity Loops and a USB mic. Since then he had the opportunity to work with the likes Jidenna, Adekunle Gold, Simi, Gospelonthebeat ,Seyi Shay and many more.
Jujuboy Star is the first artist to be signed to the recently formed partnership between African powerhouse Aristokrat Records and Universal Music Group. Piriye Isokrari, Founder and CEO, The Aristokrat Records, said, "Juju is by far one of the most exciting artists I've come across over the past decade and represents the next generation of African Superstars. We are glad to finally be introducing him to the world".
