Following the release of her first solo single last fall, singer-songwriter Lauren Jauregui is ushering in the new year with the highly-anticipated release of a brand new song "More Than That" – available now via Columbia Records, and Sony Music Entertainment Australia. The track, written by Jauregui, gives fans a deeper look into what to expect from her forthcoming album, set for release later this year. A music video for the sultry track is coming soon.
The release of "More Than That" is the first of many new songs fans can expect from Jauregui this year. In October, she released her debut solo song "Expectations." The track has since garnered more than 15 million streams, 9+ million views on the song's music video which was creatively directed by Jauregui, and critical acclaim from outlets such as the New York Times, Billboard and TIME Magazine.
NYLON has hailed Jauregui's forthcoming record as "soulful and lively… the songs are expressive and honest. Her smoky, mature vibrato carries the depth and sensuality of Amy Winehouse, while the composition contains hints of Lauryn Hill's minor harmonies and pulsating hip-hop beats."
In January, Jauregui was included as a 2019 member of Forbes' prestigious 30 Under 30 list. She was most recently featured as the December cover star of LADYGUNN magazine's Reclamation issue and has additionally covered Galore, TMRW, NYLON, Coup de Main and King Kong Magazine.
Outside of the studio, the 22-year-old has spent much of her life developing her talents beyond being a vocalist, from engaging in political activism and using her wide-ranging social platform as a mouthpiece to share her views. She has written several open letters since the 2016 United States presidential election.
