Leony Boots

German pop starlet Leony releases her new single, 'Boots' today – click here to listen now! Written by Leony alongside David Björk, Andreas Moe (Tiesto, Hardwell, Avicii), & Elina Stridh (Maroon 5], the song's anthemic hooks and jubilant, explosive lyrics convey empowerment and sticking to one's beliefs.

Of the single's meaning, Leony explains, "I grew up in a very small town where being a musician is rather unusual. It was always a dream of mine to perform and become an artist, but I never actually thought it was possible to get discovered in a small town."
 
"Some people doubted me, not because I had a lack of talent, but because they'd never seen anyone from our town succeed in the music industry, and they thought I couldn't get there either."
 
"Sometimes it feels like people don't want you to succeed. They don't see how much hard work you put in and how much discipline it takes to be a musician. It costs a lot to stand up to convention, but on the other hand, you have to believe in yourself and do your thing."
 
In fact, Leony's journey has been a testament to hard work and determination. Hailing from a country town in Germany populated by just 2,000 people, farming was more likely than fame for this 21-year-old songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Leony got her first taste of success at the tender age of 17, handily beating out the competition on Germany's national TV talent show Rising Star. From there, the talented songstress spent several years in America, the U.K., and Australia – song-writing and recording with The Kennel (The Chainsmokers and The Veronicas), Billy Steinberg (Madonna's 'Like A Virgin,' Demi Lovato's 'Give Your Heart A Break'), and Shelly Peiken (Christina Aguilera) – before securing a record deal – and second home – with Sony Music Australia.
 
'Boots' follows Leony's successful debut offering Surrender, which has surpassed 1.5 Million streams worldwide and was chosen as the theme song for the launch of German TV presenter Sylvie Meis' lingerie range, which launched with a bang in 32 countries across Europe and UK.
