Perth's sadgirl songstress Lo emerges from her pop haze with "Giver, Lover, Pet". Known for her poignant lyricism, "Giver, Lover, Pet" chronicles the complex facets of an unhealthy relationship. A fitting soundtrack for mending hearts, the track sonically inspires while riding the waves of emotion.
Penning a deal with tastemaker label samesame Records earlier this year, "Giver, Lover, Pet" is a stellar preview of what lies ahead for Lo.
Gathering praise from industry, fans and even indie's cherished Phoebe Bridgers, Lo's mature storytelling echoes nostalgia and her pop soundscapes are a colourful bed for the deep lyrical offerings. Her previous single "Disconnect" was praised by Bridgers on triple j's Unearthed saying "It reminds me of something I'd see at a festival while walking by and I'd stop because I think it's cool".
Lo chats through the themes of "Giver, Lover, Pet"; "Lyrically, it's a relatable situation where you find yourself stuck in an unhealthy relationship but can't get out because you adore them so much."
Hailing from Perth, Lo stepped into the spotlight after the success of her debut EP Plan For An Independent Future. Gaining the attention of triple j, BBC Radio 1 and landing multiple Spotify playlist adds, Lo has since clocked over 1 million streams. Added to The Harbour Agency's roster in 2020, Lo supported some of industry's biggest names including, Ian Moss, Lou Dillon and triple j's artist of the year King Stingray, as well as selling out a number of her own headline hometown shows.
