Lucy is renowned not just as a singer, but also for being a great champion for animal rights. "The love we feel for our pets is a pure form of love," she explained. "And the love that dogs feel for each other is very real, so I felt telling the story of two dogs who can't bear to be separated would be a good way to convey the underlying meaning of the song."
The accompanying music video employs the metaphor of dogs that are best mates being unfairly separated, as one is adopted from an illicit dog seller, leaving behind the other. In the spirit of the video, Lucy will use the song's launch party as a fundraising event to benefit the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

'Please Stay' was filmed on the picturesque Northern Beaches, namely Mona Vale and Bayview Dog Park. Lucy says 'We needed somewhere that was beautiful but also a quiet so the dogs could run around in a safe space. So filming around the dog park at Bayview just made sense'.
