"Eye of The Storm" is the compelling second single to be taken from Mama Kin Spender's forthcoming EP Are You Listening?

Offering a different view of this talented pairing, "Eye of The Storm" is a gorgeous driving duet that showcases the hand in glove fit the voices of Mama Kin and Tommy Spender share together.

Propelled by a pulsating bass and drum signature, coloured by muted guitars and punctuated by an insistent hook that nods lovingly toward the classic vocal groups of the 60's, the song raises a red flag to the false sense of security that can arise in the middle of a conflict. A call to vigilance.

With defences down and a feeling that the bad times, may be as good as it gets, the song lays all vulnerability on the line, like a lamb innocent of its impending sacrifice. This is a song about standing in the middle of the mess that you somehow made, but not daring to think that the worst is over yet. Never has such an emotionally ominous situation sounded so enthralling!

"Eye of The Storm" follows the fantastic reception received for its predecessor, "What's Wrong With Me?" which was shown amazing love from the likes of Double J, Triple J's Roots & All and major community radio stations, debuting at # 1 on the national regional community charts, and #7 for metros stations across the country.

"What's Wrong With Me?" was accompanied by a well-engaged conversation series on social media where Mama Kin and Spender called out to fans for submissions of their "Note to self: I'm Listening", the call designed to re-ignite the quiet voice which often gets trampled by fear, distraction, or denial. 2020 holds much promise for fans of Mama Kin Spender as they continue their unique style of community engagement working with local choirs as they tour, with a number of festival and headline dates already announced and further gems to be slowly unveiled from the forthcoming "Are You Listening EP." The release adds new and exciting vistas upon the already solid foundations Mama Kin and Tommy Spender have been building since a chance meeting on a plane 19 years ago.
