Style icon Betty Boop is reaffirming her position in the fashion world, with the cartoon siren today announcing an alignment with Melbourne's Whitehouse Institute of Design in running a student design competition throughout September and early October.

Over the coming weeks, a talented group of Top 8 fashion students from the renowned design school will be working to bring their Betty Boop inspired designs to life, culminating in an exclusive Melbourne fashion event on October 11, 2012.

The winning student will receive a money can't buy trip to New York City to complete work experience with renowned fashion powerhouse Anna Sui, working personally with Anna in her design studio.
