Interview with Miah Madden

Question: How does it feel to be the co-host of Crash The Bash?

Miah Madden: It's a privilege to be a part of the Crash The Bash team as I've been super keen to have a hosting opportunity for a really long time! Crash The Bash is such a great show to be a part of due to its talented cast and crew in addition to the funny and entertaining nature of the show itself. Being a co-host allows me to showcase my own personality while presenting funny skits and scenes alongside my talented co-host Lee which has been so much fun!

Question: What's it like working alongside Lee Carseldine?

Miah Madden: I've absolutely loved working alongside Lee! We have a really great dynamic on screen and always find a way to come up with funny commentary and remarks to add into our skits and scenes. Lee is extremely talented, shown through his television debuts and sporting successes. He helped make it super easy for me to fit in while showing me the ropes of how hosting is done!

Question: How will you balance HSC and filming Crash The Bash?

Miah Madden: I've had the honour of working in the film industry for about nine years now, so juggling school and acting jobs has always on the radar for me. Throughout the years I've become pretty good at being able to balance sport, school and acting, so when presented with the opportunity to co-host Crash The Bash I was all in. Crash The Bash is being filmed in my school summer holidays which is very convenient as it means I'm not missing out on school, however I have to work harder in the holidays to stay ahead and on top of school work. Acting is a career I would love to pursue after school- so why not get a head start!

Question: What inspired your passion for film and television?

Miah Madden: I've been very passionate about working in the film and television industry ever since I landed my first role in a commercial at a young age. I loved being able to slip into another character that attains different characteristics to me and tell their story from their perspective. As the years went on and I worked in the industry more, my love for film and television grew as I performed a range of genres and characters. Currently, I hope to pursue acting as a career after school as a result for my love of cinematography and performing!

Question: What's a typical day like, for you?

Miah Madden: On a school day, I wake up at 6:30am to make a healthy breakfast and smoothie. I'll start school at 8:20am and finish at 3:20pm, usually staying back in the library to study until late or going to training for athletics or dance. However, I can be a massive procrastinator and my favourite TV shows that I love to binge watch are Brooklyn Nine Nine, Modern Family and Suits! Yet, these summer holidays I've been working Monday to Friday almost every week as I'm shooting multiple shows at the moment. This requires me to usually leave the house at 6am and get home in the evening after a long day of work. Weekends are typically occupied by sport or weekend shoots, yet I try to stay social with friends and family as much as possible while juggling my school work.
