The rate of change in our world is unprecedented and almost impossible to predict. Around 70% of the jobs that will be available in the year 2020 haven't even been invented yet. This is the world we are rushing into at an exhilarating speed.
The MJCC is proud to present renowned futurist and strategic analyst Dr Peter Ellyard. Peter will describe the future and offer ideas on how to succeed in your career and community in this brave new world.
Peter will be joined onstage by a panel representing Melbourne's young professionals. Following Peter's address, each member of the panel will share their unique perspective on what the future holds.
Young professionals, graduate recruits and HR specialists are highly encouraged to attend.

Dr Peter Ellyard is a futurist, strategic analyst and Executive Director of Preferred Futures, which he founded in 1991. Peter works with organisations and communities to help plan for both thrival and thrivability in the 21st century. A former Executive Director for the Australian Commission for the Future, he previously held CEO positions in a number of public sector organisations. He has been a Senior Advisor to the United Nations system for more than 25 years, including the UNDP, UNEP and UNESCO, and was a Special Adviser to the 1992 Earth Summit. He is Chairman of the Universal Greening Group, a project partner in the My-Town Corporation and Adjunct Professor of Intergenerational Strategies at the University of Queensland. His book, Ideas for the New Millennium, has recently been re-released in an updated and revised version.
