Ahead of the Australian leg of the world-tour for Nitro Circus Live (www.nitrocircuslive.com), the world's most exciting, adrenalin-charged, live action-sports show, has just completed a hugely successful inaugural South African Tour, with Nitro Circus Live performing its biggest and most spectacular show to date with a 35 000 sell out performance at FNB Stadium, Soweto, South Africa.
Following two sell-out shows in Cape Town and Durban the team hit the Highveld and performed for the record breaking crowd, with the 35,000 fans smashing through the previous Nitro Circus Live record number of 28,000 tickets sold at the Arnhem, Netherlands show in 2012.
South African fans saw everything from kids' trikes, snow skis, tandem bikes and razor scooters, through to shopping trolleys, and a Barbie car off the Gigant-A-Ramp. A highlight of the tour was the spectacular BASE jump by NCL athlete Erik Roner, from the top of the 350 foot arch at Moses Mabhida Stadium, the likes of which has never before been attempted. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oW5OhCw9jN8 for Roner's jump.
Nitro Circus Live CEO Mike Porra said, 'We were absolutely blown away by the response we had to our show in South Africa. We have been touring the globe with Nitro Circus Live for the last 4 years, but to come to a brand new market, sell out all three shows, and put on our highest selling event of all time – it was truly amazing. The brand-new show being developed for the Australian show will be unlike anything audiences have seen before and we can't wait to unveil it to Australian fans first."
The Australian tour will be the official unveiling of a stunning all-new show, painstakingly developed over the past five years.
Nitro Circus Live showcases over 40 of the world's best action sports athletes performing daring and often record-breaking tricks in freestyle motocross, BMX and skateboarding, along with heart-stopping stunts on unique contraptions rarely attempted outside of the Nitro Circus family. Featuring the stars of Nitro Circus' hit TV show and Nitro Circus 3D film, the tour was founded by action sports legend, Travis Pastrana, a 10-time X Games gold medalist.
It also marks the highly anticipated return of Travis Pastrana, to the sport which rocketed him to international superstardom; freestyle motocross who will perform in the newly designed, multi-million dollar set that will be seen for the very first time worldwide, on the Australian tour.
For the first time in Nitro Circus Live history, the show will be going -retro', with the entire performance choreographed and styled as a 1920s, Barnum & Bailey style circus.
